PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the optical waveguide grating with low crosstalk by forming the core of a grating formation part thicker than the core of an optical fiber connections or the core between the grating formation part and optical fiber connections thinner than the core of the optical fiber connections. SOLUTION: An area nearby the grating formation part 6 is so formed that its core width varies. A center area (core width modulation part) 7 has the grating formation part 6, the area 2 of 17μm in core width, and an area 3 of 4μm in core width. Further, this grating has a tapered area 4 which has varied in core width from 17μm to 4μm between the area 2 and area 3 and a tapered area 5 which has varied in core width from 6μm to 4μm between the area 1 and area 3 other than the center area 7. The core width is 6μm in areas (nearby ports 8 to 11) of the optical fiber connections. |
