PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower occurrence of a connection impediment by preventing extraneous substances from intervening between a movable contact and a fixed contact of a switch mechanism, in a jack provided with the switch mechanism turned on and turned off according to putting the plug in and unplugging. SOLUTION: This jack has a body 4, and a movable contact piece member 8 and a fixed contact piece member 9 constituting a switch mechanism 3. A fixed contact 95 of the fixed contact piece member 9 is formed by a pair of corner parts 94, 94 of a depression part 93 formed by notching the fixed contact piece member 9. A movable contact 84 of the movable contact piece member 8 is formed by a pair of inclined parts 83, 83 of a chevron-shaped part 85 formed on the tip of the movable contact piece member 8.
