PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce moving images to provide a more natural stereoscopic view by use of a three-dimensional display method and device by avoiding the phantom phenomenon of front and rear display images as viewed from an observer. SOLUTION: A three-dimensional display method for displaying three-dimensional images, when observing images displayed on two-dimensional display devices, by varying the positions of focal points and therefore imaging positions by use of focal point changing means, then displaying on the two-dimensional display devices two-dimensional images which correspond to the imaging positions, among two-dimensional images obtained by the sampling of the depths of the three-dimensional images, and repeating the two-dimensional images at high speeds within the afterimage time of the human eye, has a first step in which the two-dimensional images are displayed separately on the two-dimensional display devices 101, 102 according to their respective imaging positions and a second step in which, when the two-dimensional images are not those on the frontmost surfaces as viewed from the observer, the portions of the two-dimensional images hidden by object images in the two-dimensional images located in front of the former two-dimensional images as viewed from the observer are hidden by masks to prevent the portions of the two-dimensional images from being displayed. |
