PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent nonconformity caused by excessive temperature rising by preventing the temperature of a fixing roller surface from becoming equal to or higher than specified temperature by stopping the operation of an auxiliary heating means in the case of unnecessitating the heating of the auxiliary heating means. SOLUTION: A fixing roller 31 is provided with a halogen lamp 32 which is a fixing heating source, and an auxiliary heating roller 30 heats the fixing roller 31 by being brought into contact with the fixing roller 31. A fixing roller temperature sensor S4 is adjacently arranged at the fixing roller 31, and detects the temperature of the fixing roller surface. Also, an auxiliary heating roller temperature sensor S5 is adjacently arranged at an auxiliary heating roller 30, and detects the temperature of an auxiliary heating roller surface. Then when the temperature of the fixing roller surface is higher than set temperature, that means, the heating of the auxiliary heating roller 30 is unnecessitated, the operation of a resistance heating layer 44 of the auxiliary heating roller 30 is stopped. Thus, the temperature of the fixing roller surface is prevented from getting higher due to the heating of the auxiliary heating roller 30 though it reaches the set temperature. |
