<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of a luminance difference and to improve the picture quality by supplying a counter electrode with a reference signal through a switching element in conformity with timing to the supply of a video signal to a pixel electrode. SOLUTION: On the surface of one transparent substrate on the liquid crystal side, scanning signal lines GL which extend in the (x) direction are formed side by side in the (y) direction. Further, counter voltage signal lines CL are formed adjacently to one scanning signal in parallel to the scanning signal line GL. A thin film transistor TFT functions as a 1st switching element TFT 1 for supplying a video signal from a video signal line DL to a pixel electrode and also as a 2nd switching element TFT 2 for supplying a reference voltage from a counter voltage signal line CL to the counter electrode CT. Consequently, the counter electrode is supplied with the reference signal from the counter voltage signal line CL through the thin film transistor TFT 2 in conformity with timing to the supply of the video signal to the pixel electrode.</p> |
