摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which a color tone and luminance are excellent by allowing each pixel electrode to have a necessary charge holding time and high aperture ratio. SOLUTION: Each pixel electrode 19 and a faced electrode are arranged so as to be faced through a liquid crystal layer to each other, and auxiliary capacitance electrodes 14a and 14b are arranged so as to be faced through an insulating film to each other at the back side of each pixel electrode 19. In this liquid crystal display device, the area of each auxiliary capacitance electrode 14a and 14b is set so as to be changed within a display screen corresponding to the difference within the display screen of the charge holding rate of the liquid crystal layer interposed between each pixel electrode 19 and the faced electrode. Thus, a high aperture ratio can be obtained in a possible range under a condition that a charge holding time necessary for each picture element is ensured.</p>
