<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly compress data without performing motion compensation and without using inter-frame differences when a moving image consisting of multicolor images is encoded and decoded. SOLUTION: An encoding device for moving image consisting of multicolor images generates a moving image by making successive frames of still images consisting of color pixel data 100A with index codes. The device is provided with a reference pixel generating means which uses pixels at corresponding positions in a reference frame as reference pixels for encoding when respective pixels of a frame of interest to be encoded is encoded. Here, this reference pixel generating means 2 when encoding, for example, the pixels of the frame of interest to be encoded uses following-line pixels of the pixels at the corresponding positions of the reference frame as reference pixels for encoding. Reverse algorithm is used for decoding.</p> |
