PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize an automatic recording function while dealing with dial-in service without using any external equipment. SOLUTION: In respect to the dial-in service, a DTMF signal detecting means 6 detects a DTMF signal after a primary response, an external telephone set 4 corresponding to a telephone number registering the detected DTMF signal is connected to the side of a line by a first relay, the external telephone set 4 is sounded through a second relay by the pseudo CI signal of a pseudo CI generating circuit, the sounding time of the external telephone set 4 is measured and after the lapse of prescribed sounding time without detecting the off-hook of the external telephone set 4 through an off-hook detecting means 3, automatic recording is performed while connecting the telephone line to the automatic recording function on the side of facsimile equipment 1.
