PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new gene comprising a xylanase precursor gene having a specific base sequence, originated from Streptomyces olivaceoviridis, and useful for producing xylanase used for the production of xylooligosaccharide, the bleaching of pulp, etc., the production of enzymes for food industry, etc. SOLUTION: This new xylanase precursor gene has a base sequence expressed by the formula, and is originated from Streptomyces olivaceoviridis. The xylanase precursor gene is used for producing xylanase useful for the production of xylooligosaccharide from xylane, the breaching of pulp, etc., in various fields including a food industry. The xylanase precursor gene is obtained by extracting a genome DNA from Streptomyces olivaceoviridis-86 by a conventional method, amplifying the genome DNA by a PCR reaction using two primers comprising the partial sequences of xylanase gene as templates, and subsequently screening the amplification product. |
