A tumor-specific expression vector (A) is new and contains a gene (I), encoding a transcription or translation product (II) which is therapeutically active in tumor cells. This is under the control of an expression control region (ECR) or its derivatives which has a 383 bp sequence (1), given in the specification and contains at least bases -224 to-197 (1a). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) preparation of (A) by inserting (I) into a vector so that it is placed under control of ECR; (2) 10-30 bp nucleic acid fragments (III) that hybridize to (1a), or its complement, under stringent conditions; and (3) nucleic acid fragments (IV) that bind specifically under physiological conditions to (1) or fragments containing (1a), form a triple helix with double-stranded fragments in the region of (1a) or can introduce one or more mutations into (1a). |
