The grille body (11) is made of lightweight, heat conductive material, e.g. die cast aluminum, acting as a heat sink for heat produced from internal elements (12). The body has nonstick coated grille elements (16) and is mounted on an insulating base (15) made of high temperature resistant material. The base holds a heated water tank (14) with a perforated lid to emit steam during the cooking cycle. A sloping body section (17) drains juices and fats into the tank.
