In between gasification (3) and particle removal (10) or combustion (15), a further step (8) is carried out to remove acidic substances from the gas (7), and during this step the gas is maintained at a temperature higher than the minimum condensation temperature of the condensatable substances (e.g. tar) present in the gas. A method for producing furnace gases, especially from refuse, in order to generate energy, comprises a gasification step where an at least partially oxidizable solid or liquid material is at least partially converted into a furnace gas, a step for removing particles from the gas, and a combustion step where the furnace gas is burnt in a thermodynamic cycle in order to generate output. In between gasification and particle removal or combustion, a further step is carried out to remove acidic substances from the gas, and during this step the gas is maintained at a temperature higher than the minimum condensation temperature of the condensatable substances (e.g. tar) present in the gas. An independent claim is also included for a furnace gas production system utilizing this method. |
