PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a cavity carbon capable of increasing the adsorption area when used as an adsorbent, increasing the amount of occluded lithium when used as a negative pole of a lithium cell or battery and providing the high-performance lithium cell or battery and to provide a method for production thereof. SOLUTION: This cavity carbon comprises a molding of carbon powder and adopts a constitution in which a cavity 2 is formed in the interior. Furthermore, the cavity carbon is capable of adopting a constitution in which lithium is occluded in the cavity 2. The method for producing the cavity carbon adopts a constitution for mixing a carbon powder with resin particles, sticking the carbon powder to the surfaces of the resin particles, then heat-treating the resultant material and evaporating and removing the resin particles. |
