TRANSFORMANT, AND PRODUCTION OF CANINE INTERFERON-GAMMA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a transformant useful for producing a large amount of canine interferon-γ used for antitumor agents and antiviral agents for dogs by transforming a yeast cell with a recombinant vector combined with a DNA encoding the canine interferon-γ protein. SOLUTION: This transformant is obtained by ligating a DNA encoding canine interferon-γ protein to a vector expressing in a yeast cell, isolating a plasmid for producing the canine interferon-γfrom the ligation product, and subsequently introducing the plasmid into a yeast cell such as Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The transformant is proliferated, and the produced canine interferon-γ is recovered.
