<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate all data processing devices constituting a system in ideal conditions even when the time it takes for each of the devices to start up differs one from another. SOLUTION: After the warming-up operation of a copying machine is started (s3, s4), the power source of a portable terminal device mounted to an operation panel is turned on (s6) to check whether or not the portable terminal device performs a starting action normally (s7). When the terminal device performs the starting action normally, the starting action of the terminal device and the warming-up operation to the copying machine are completed and an input operation to command starting of a copying action is put on standby (s8-s10). When it is judged that the device does not perform the starting action normally, a warming-up process of power-saving mode is performed in the copying machine (s12) to reduce power consumption at a fixing device thereby to reduce running costs.</p> |
