PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong a carry and to improve directional stability by constituting the clubface of a single crystal metallic plate having a unidirectionally solidified structure grown in the thickness direction of the clubface. SOLUTION: A single crystal clubface plate 2 is welded to the clubface aperture 4 of a golf club head body 1. The plate 2 is formed by slicing a single crystal ingot molded by casting of the melt of an Ni alloy of a prescribed component compsn. consisting of Cr, Co, Mo, etc., and Ni. In such a case, a polycrystalline clubface plate 3 may be used. The yield strength may be enhanced and high strength may be obtd. by such constitution. In addition, a Young's modulus is lowered and a low modulus of elasticity may be obtd. The golf club head may be made lighter in weight and thinner and the carry may be prolonged.
|
