<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pigments better in initial dispersibility heretofore in use and good gloss. SOLUTION: In a method for preparing surface treated pigments, the surface treatment is carried out by adding at least one of an aqueous solution of a water-soluble salt of a resin acid and an aqueous emulsion of a resin acid or a water-insoluble salt of a resin acid to an aqueous slurry of an organic pigment to sufficiently contact said resin acid, resin acid water-soluble salt or resin acid water-insoluble salt with the surface of the organic pigment, then adding one or more anionic surface active agents to the resulting slurry and subsequently rendering the aqueous slurry acidic to separate the surface treated pigment from the aqueous slurry.</p> |
