<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball valve giving an accurate and/or substantially linear prescribed flow amount condition, and eliminating necessity for machine work and cast of special order. SOLUTION: A capacity control insert 18 for a ball valve can be mounted in a fluid passage 22 of the ball valve 10 for giving a prescribed flow amount condition of cross flow. The insert 18 has a convex shape corresponding to an outer surface 38 of a valve control member 16 seated in the ball valve 10, and for mounting the insert 18 to traverse the fluid passage 22, a connection part is arranged on the periphery thereof. In the insert 18, a slender slot 46 of long sideways or parabolic opening or the like to give a prescribed flow amount is passed through therein. A plurality of the inserts 18 thus formed are prepared in the ball valve 10 for giving a prescribed flow amount condition in a certain range selected individually relating to the ball valve 10.</p> |
