SOLUTION: This hybrid vehicle is constituted to transmit motive power from an output shaft of a transmission 5 to a driving wheel 8 by connecting an engine 2 and a first motor 1 to an input shaft of a clutch 3 and connecting a second motor 4 and an input shaft of the transmission 5 to an output shaft of the clutch 3. In this case, in cases where a temperature detection value of the engine 2 is higher than a specified value, the engine 2 is stopped by releasing the clutch at the time of stopping the vehicle, the vehicle is started by driving force of the second motor 4 at the time of starting the vehicle, and the clutch 3 is fastened by starting the engine 2 by the first motor 1. At this time, air intake valve closing timing is adjusted to the delay angle side at the time of releasing the clutch 3, and the air intake valve closing timing is adjusted to the spark advance side after fastening the clutch 3.
