PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wooden base transfer article which is excellent in weather resistance, and in addition, has a high design property by a method wherein this transfer article comprises a wooden base material and a receiving layer which is provided on the surface of the wooden base material, and an ultraviolet ray absorbing agent is contained in the receiving layer, and also, a picture pattern is transferred to the receiving layer. SOLUTION: This transfer article is a wooden base material 1 on which a decoration is applied, and on the surface of the wooden base material 1, a receiving layer 2 is provided, and the receiving layer 2 is placed under a state wherein a picture pattern is transferred to the receiving layer 2. The receiving layer 2 can be constituted of an unsaturated polyester resin, and an unsaturated polyester resin layer is formed by applying and hardening the resin liquid on the wooden base material 1. To the receiving layer 2, an ultraviolet ray absorbing agent such as a benzotriazole based substance, is added. Also, a reactant type ultraviolet ray absorbing agent may be used. The thickness of the receiving layer 2 is preferably 5-300μm, and when a picture pattern is transferred, a transfer sheet is used. For the transfer sheet, one wherein a picture pattern of a wood grain is formed on a thin paper by a gravure printing, using an ink for which a dye is dispersed in water, may be used.
