<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent documents from being blown away by determining the discharge amount of air according to the thickness of the documents when the stacked documents are conveyed while being separated by air. SOLUTION: A document conveying device 2 is provided with sheet separating and conveying means 6, 38 for separating sheets by blowing air to the sheets on a sheet tray 4 on which a plurality of sheets are to be placed, and for conveying a lowermost sheet from the sheet tray 4, sheet judging means 30a, 30b for detecting and judging the kind of the conveyed sheet, and an air discharge amount control means for controlling the discharge amount of air on the basis of the judged results of the sheet judging means 30a, 30b.</p> |
