<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a germicidal composition containing N-acetonylbenzamide and to provide a method for controlling plant pathogenic microbes with the composition. SOLUTION: This germicidal composition containing N-acetonylbenzamide contains (a) a germicidally effective amount of a first germicidally active compound having the formula (R<1> and R<3> are each mndependently a halogen or a 1-4C alkyl; R<2> is a 1-4C alkyl, a 2-4C alkenyl, a 2-6C alkynyl, a 1-4C alkoxy or cyano; R<4> and R<4> are each independently hydrogen atom or a 1-4C alkyl and at least one of R<4> and R<5> is a 2-4C alkyl; X is a halogen, thiocyano or isothiocyano) or a salt acceptable to the cultivation of field crops, (b) a germicidally effective amount of a second germicidally active compound which is an acylalanine type germicide and (c) a carrier acceptable to the cultivation of the field crops.</p> |
