PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press work product used as a catalyst or a catalyst carrier for manufacturing vinyl acetate monomers. SOLUTION: A press work product is composed of silicon dioxide produced by pyrolysis of 0.5-1.8 ml/g pore volume as a base, and water is added to silicon dioxide prepared by pyrolysis, and uniformized together with methylhydroxyethyl cellulose, wax and polyethylene glycol. A kneading process and a molding process are carried out and also extraction is carried out, and in some cases, an extruded material is cut into the desired length by using a cutting device, dried at 70-150 deg.C and thermally treated at 400-1200 deg.C within a time from 30 minutes to 10 hours.
