PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge certainly and warn that the durability of a friction element is going to degrade through repetitive shifts of the same sort and notify the driver to stop his operation as the cause of degradation. SOLUTION: At the moment t2 from the moment t1 when a first 2-3 shift command is output to the moment t3 at which the shift interval securing timeα(α=C0 +C2 .Ne1 <2> ) is going to elapse, as the 2→3 shift command for the second time is emitted, a shift interval securing flag FLAG set to one at the moment t1 maintains one even after t2 . While the FLAG is reset to zero at the moment t4 as a shift command of same sort is not emitted in the period from the moment t2 with the second 2→3 shift command to the moment t4 at which a new shift interval securing timeα(α=C0 +C2 .Ne2 <2> ) is going to elaspe. In the case a shift command of the same sort like at t2 is emitted while the FLAG remains one, judgement is passed that there is repetitive shift, and an alarm 12 is actuated to warn the driver to interrupt his operation as the cause of the repetitive shift.
