PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize correct transfer also at color overlap parts and low-density parts by forming an ink ribbon of a release layer and a resin-based ink layer layered on a base material, forming a heat insulation layer at a front face of a recording paper and controlling a power supply time to a thermal head in many stages in accordance with gradients of record images at the time of recording. SOLUTION: An ink ribbon 17 is formed by layering a wax-based release layer 27 and a resin-based ink layer 28 sequentially on a front face of a plastic film 26 as a base material. The resin-based ink layer 28 is formed to sequentially decrease a melt viscosity in a record order of ink colors, that is, in the order of cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Meanwhile, the recording paper is provided with a heat insulation layer at a front face of a base paper to limit heat of heat-generating elements of a thermal head not to be emitted to a rear face of the recording paper. A power supply time to each heat- generating element is controlled in many stages in accordance with gradients of record images, thereby recording the recording paper 29 in halftones. |
