The device includes a piston rod (8) with at least two pivotable clamping levers (10,11) which are axially displaceable along the longitudinal direction of the device. At least two springs (12,13) and a release lever (7) cooperate with the clamping levers. The first clamping lever acts to advance the piston rod by cooperating with the external contour of a rotatable eccentric disc (17) of a drive mechanism. The eccentric disc may be connected to a drive motor operated by a switch (6).
