PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcapsule encapsulating a hydrophobic core material and having narrow particle size distribution and a thermosensitive recording body having excellent recording image quality, light resistance and water resistance. SOLUTION: The microcapsule encapsulates the hydrophobic core material emulsified or dispersed by a emulsifying agent. As a means for obtaining the microcapsule having narrow particle size distribution, a polyvinyl alcohol containing a monomer having diacetone group is used as the emulsifying agent. In the thermosensitive recording body successively having a thermosensitive recording layer containing an electron donative compound and an electron accepting compound and a protective layer on a supporting body, the microcapsule encapsulating an ultraviolet absorbent as the hydrophobia core material is incorporated in the protective layer. |
