PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce costs of commercial transactions and enhance processing rapidity and correctness by arranging a pay amount input means, a means for generating two-dimensional symbols from input amounts, and a means for printing the generated two-dimensional symbols to checks. SOLUTION: An amount-printing apparatus 401 is provided with an input device 402 for inputting pay amounts which includes a ten key or the like used in, e.g. a register, an electronic table calculator or the like. A two-dimensional symbol-generating device 403 generates a two-dimensional symbol from a sum input by the input device 402, which is carried out with the utilization of a simple computer or a special electronic circuit. A printing device 404 prints the generated two-dimensional symbol to a check paper. When the printing device 404 is adapted to print further information such as dates, payees, addresses, etc., the trouble in handling checks is saved and artificial mistakes can be prevented. |
