PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a water cooling fluid coupling assembly to be used in a fan drive of an engine, and to increase the torque transmission capacity by improving the heat radiation. SOLUTION: In this fluid coupling assembly, a fluid coupling 43 is arranged in a cooling water cavity C to be formed by an engine block of an internal combustion engine. The fluid coupling 43 includes an input coupling assembly 45 with an output coupling member 55 arranged inside, and these input and output members are cooperated to form forward and rear viscous shear areas 61, 65; 63, 67 to maximize the torque transmission capacity. The input coupling assembly 45 includes a rear body member 49 which is arranged in the cavity C and provided with an impeller blade 73, and the rear body member 49 is operated as a water pump of the engine. |
