PURPOSE:To obtain an electrode for pH measurement which is fast, gives good response with high speed over a wide pH range, makes a stable measurement for a long period possible and can be constituted into an extremely fine shape so as to be suitable for dental examination. CONSTITUTION:The title electrode is an electrode for pH measurement wherein a supporting body 3 wherein an insulating film 2 is provided on the surface of an electrically conductive base material 1, an iridium oxide responding film 4 provided by electrically connecting it with the inner electrically conductive base material 1 on the side face or the apex face of one side of the supporting body 3 and a porous protective film 5 covering the iridium oxide responding film 4 and formed on the supporting body 3 are provided and the iridium oxide responding film 4 consists of iridium oxide with a ratio of oxygen to iridium of 2.5-3.5. |
