<p>PURPOSE:To output a picture with stable reproduction by implementing output changeover of a system discrimination signal at the start of the operation of the reproduction system sent to a video recording processing circuit and a reproduction signal processing circuit at the mode changeover from the stop mode to the reproduction system mode. CONSTITUTION:A recording system pattern is inputted to a system conversion circuit 6 at the stop state, converted into a broadcast system of a conversion destination signal given from a system discrimination circuit 5 and outputted from the circuit 6 as a video output. In the case of implementing video recording, a recording pattern is outputted from the circuit 6 to the processing circuit 7 in the case of video recording and the video recording is implemented. In the case of the recording system mode, the recording and reproduction system signal is the same as the conversion destination signal. In the reproduction state, a reproduction pattern is sent from a processing circuit 8 to the circuit 6 and converted into the broadcast system of the conversion destination signal and outputted as a video output. In this case, since the reproduction signal processing circuit 8 should make reproduction processing by the conversion original broadcast system, the conversion original system is sent to the reproduction signal processing circuit 8 as a recording reproducing system signal from the system discrimination circuit 4.
