A tractor section (12) is attached to the retaining ring of the generator, and powered to move along tracks in the circumferential direction around the ring. An extendible mast (14), supporting the inspection head (16) to be inserted between core iron and retaining ring, is mounted from the tractor section. A high resolution camera (66) is mounted on the inspection head for monitoring the gap. |
