PURPOSE: A method for restrictively operating a gateway station in a gateway station system, is provided to set up a function restricting a designated gateway station for the corresponding signal message as well as to execute a restrictive operation for the signal message received in the gateway station according to the established function restricting the gateway station lest an unnecessary message caused by the disturbance or the error of a cooperated signal network should flow into the gateway station. In addition, a service request from the signal network or a signal point at which transmission is not allowed in the gateway station is cut off by the method, so that communication service is improved. CONSTITUTION: An instruction restrictively generating signaling termination, including information on a gateway station linkset group actually performing signal termination restriction and information on a corresponding signal termination, are inputted to a gateway station system from an operator. The inputted information is analyzed to determine the availability of signal termination restricting information. First, if a corresponding system is defined as the gateway station system, it is confirmed whether or not the inputted gateway station linkset group is defined. If a linkset group is defined, it is confirmed whether or not inputted signal termination is defined in a message transfer part(MTP). If the corresponding signal termination is defined, or information restricting inputted signal termination is available, corresponding information restricting signal termination is stored in a Database, and delivered to a processor performing a function restricting the gateway station by using a system internal interface. A performing result of a corresponding instruction restrictively generating signal termination is reported to the operator.
