Known feed devices e.g. of forage harvesters, are provided with either a stepless hydraulic drive mechanism or a gear system with several steps, for modifying the conveying speed of the delivery device and therefore the cutting length of the forage harvester. These known feed devices are either too expensive or require too much power or offer too few possibilities for changing speed. The inventive feed device (28) contains a gear (34) which is configured as a planetary gear and is driven primarily by a mechanical drive (36), and a motor (38). The motor (38) acts upon the ring wheel (48) and is able to superpose the speed of the mechanical drive and change it without any steps. The invention can be used in agricultural machines. |
