<p>Multiload ballast for ultraviolet fluorescent lamps, comprising an alternating/direct current converter (3), a direct/direct current converter (4), a capacitive module (5) and a high-frequency direct/alternating current converter (6), controlled by a frequency modulator (16), the multicharge ballast (1) being connected to an alternating voltage monophase network with a standard frequency of 50-60 Hz (8) through a harmonic filter (7) and connected to the load (2) which can be ultraviolet lamps (13, 14, 15) having different powers. An additional improvement relates to an alternative method of wiring wherein the lamp cathodes are short-circuited, since the voltage between the two terminals of one same cathode is very small. The terminals of the capacitors which are not connected to the lamps are connected to each other and to the side of the lamps which is opposite to the coils.</p> |
