The injector body contains a central bore (16) and a plunger assembly (20). A threadless attaching device (12) attaches an upper body section (36) of the fuel injector to a lower body section (38). A groove (62) is formed in the lower end of the upper body section and corresponding apertures (66) extend through the lower body section (38) through which pins (68) are inserted. A slip fit with loose connection is created.
