The instrument (1) comprises cymbals (2,3) which are recessed in the middle and have a peripheral rim (48). A further cymbal (4) in addition to the two first cymbals clashed against each other is banged against the one or other of the two cymbals with the help of a control (5). The top and bottom cymbal have a convex part pointing away from the curvature (25,25') of the middle cymbal (3) which has radial, corrugated protuberances (49,50) flattening out towards the edge. The control comprises an up-and-down movable bar (7) joined to the top cymbal and guided in a fixed pipe acting as cylindrical housing and supporting the middle cymbal. A piston (8) is movably guided in the cylindrical chamber and cooperates with an outer pipe (14) possessing an annular piston supporting the bottom cymbal at its end. A pedal (31) with restoring spring (33) operates the control.
