The invention concerns a safety barrel (5) key (1), comprising a key body (3) with a through housing (31) substantially parallel to the key body (3) neutral plane, the housing (31) receiving a mobile push-rod (32), the push-rod (32) being designed to co-operate by one (36a) of its transverse ends, with a positioning member (133) outside the key and arranged perpendicular to the key channel (8) so as to move the push-rod (32) transversely, to push a mobile cylinder pin (218). The mobile push-rod (32) has lateral shaped parts (40, 41) and the key body (3) comprises on its flanks (30a, 30b) an orifice (34) emerging in the push-rod (32) housing. The push-rod (32) lateral shaped parts are designed to co-operate through said orifice (34) with a mobile cylinder pin (119).
