Disclosed is a supporting element (12) for a wiper blade (10) belonging to a windscreen wiper (15) in a motor vehicle, made of a flexible material. The blade is fixed parallel to the longitudinal axis, facing the windscreen on the lower surface (22) of the oblong elastic supporting element (12) which is produced using an interlaced fibre material impregnated with a reaction mixture. The supporting element (12) is particularly easy and inexpensive to produce if it is made entirely of fibre material impregnated with a reaction mixture.
