PURPOSE: A device and method for measuring consumption amount of a toner in a printer is provided to exactly calculate valid data by counting and to detect toner amount without a sensor. CONSTITUTION: A device for measuring consumption amount of a toner in a printer comprises a toner consumption amount measurer(400); a count valid signal generating unit(401) generating a count valid signal; a count unit(402) counting number of the count valid signal of the count valid signal generating unit; a reference storing unit(403) comparing counting result with a reference value; a decoder(404) outputting signals by receiving video data; and plural roof counters(405,406,407) outputting a corresponding signal by receiving the output signal of the decoder. Thereby, the device for measuring consumption amount of the toner in the printer exactly calculates valid data to detect toner amount without a sensor.
