The liquid friction clutch has a powered primary disc which rotates within the working chamber of a secondary clutch housing (6). The primary disc has a reservoir (10) for the shear liquid flowing between it and the working chamber through a flow-regulation valve (12). A fluid return hole (16) runs between the working chamber and the reservoir which begins in the radial outer part of the work chamber and funnels into the reservoir. The beginning (16a) and end (16b) of the return hole are located on approximately diametrically-opposed sides of the clutch housing.
