The device has a sensor element (1) which generates an output signal proportional to a parameter to be measured. The device has an integrator (2) which, starting with a start value, integrates the output signals of the sensor element. The device has a comparator (4) connected after the integrator. The comparator compares the output of the integrator with a threshold value and provides an output signal corresponding to the result of the comparison. The device also has a reset device (3) connected after the comparator. At predetermined times, the reset device resets the integrator to the start value. The device may also have a time measuring device (7) which measures the time period between the start value and the time at which the output signal exceeds the threshold value to output a signal corresponding to the time period, as a measure for the signal at the sensor element.
