The present invention relates to a frame device (1) for the mounting of a ventilation filter (2) and a method for the mounting of a ventilation filter (2) in such a frame device (1). The frame device (1) comprises at least a frame element (3), which comprises a recess (7) extending in the longitudinal direction of the frame element, which recess (7) has an elongated opening (5). The opening (5) is arranged to receive an edge portion (4) of the ventilation filter (2). The frame device (1) comprises an elongated locking element (6), which is of an essentially rigid material and is arranged to be inserted in said recess in order to lock the edge portion of the ventilation filter in the recess. The elongated locking element (6) has such a cross section profile that it is insertable transversely to its longitudinal extension through the opening (5) to said recess (7) and that it in an inserted position in the recess (7) is arranged to lock said edge portion (4).
