A cylindrical metal insert forms part of a thermoplastic assembly in which it is anchored by a heat and pressure or ultrasonic inductive embedding. The cylinder is a truncated cone with a central cylindrical threaded hole (5). The outer face bears a series of locking and holding recesses of different designs especially U-shaped (2), cross-hatched (3), knurled (6) and straight cylindrical profile (7).
