The invention relates to the production of a supporting layer for a solar cell, comprising a ceramic silicon-carbide based substrate layer, especially a silicon infiltrated reactional silicon carbide, a covering layer made of crystalline silicon and, optionally, a conductive or non-conductive intermediate layer arranged there between. The invention also relates to a supporting layer obtained according to said method.
