The suction apparatus has a control device to which additional apparatus like an electric brush, a heating installation or similar can be connected and has a suction fan. The power of the suction fan (16) upon connection of the additional apparatus (9) to the wet suction apparatus and/or upon switching on the additional apparatus can be matched automatically to the function of the additional apparatus. Upon switching the additional apparatus on, the maximum power of the suction fan is automatically adjustable. Upon switching the additional apparatus off, the suction fan is switched off and its power is reduced, preferably to a minimum.
