The separating leg is for energy guidance chains with chain members that each consist of two side plates located at a distance from each other and parallel plus two cross-ties connecting them, has the leg located between the cross-ties. A recess (7) is open to the narrow side for a crossbar extending in the longitudinal direction of the cross-tie and able to be slid in from the narrow side. The recess is covered from the separating leg's narrow side by a body (2). The body can be connected to the separating leg in positive-locking or force-transmitting fashion.
