The drive device has an electric motor located in a housing or on a support part plus a construction element/group located in pivoted fashion in a single bearing (14) in the housing or on the support part. The element/group moves an adjusting element axially that is coupled to the mirror glass carrier or designed in one-piece fashion with this. The bearing consists of a wall (25) in which a central opening is designed whose inner edge forms a ring collar. The two sides of the wall, at least in the central regions adjoining the opening, have guide faces. The construction element/group has corresponding counter-guide faces which connect on both sides to an annular groove formed in a coupling part. The central opening has a larger diameter than the annular groove. Between two faces of the coupling part and the wall in regions remote from the guide faces, a free space (26) exists.
