The damper has a sealed control cylinder (4) connected to a piston (3) via the insulator (2) or insulator web. The control stress on the control cylinder continuously influences the viscosity of the electro-rheological fluid in the annular electro-rheological fluid (ERF) chamber (20). The ERF flow between the other two ERF chambers (18, 19) takes place through a boring (19). A piezo-pressure receiver (23) provides information on the pressure situation in the annular chamber.
