摘要 <p>Methods for adsorbing toxic target chemical compounds are provided wherein such compounds (either as gases, liquids or solids) are contacted with nanoscale oxide adsorbents, such as MgO and CaO, preferably at ambient temperatures and at atmospheric pressure. The preferred adsorbents have an average particle size of from about 1-20 nm, and have a total pore volume of at least about 0.5 cc/g. <IMAGE></p>
